In short: Vialma is a 100% ad free service and we do not sell your data to any third parties. We do not store data for any other purpose than:
1) providing a better service for our customers and
2) complying with our own legal and contractual requirements with authors, artists and labels.
You’ll find below details about your rights and how to action them, which third party services we use and how we collect, manage, protect, and eventually delete your data. How we collect your data
We collect your personal data in the following ways:
A. When you sign up for Vialma - we collect your email address and ask you to create a password which we store in an encrypted format so that you can create an account, use the Service, and receive our newsletters.
B. Through your use of Vialma - when you use the Service, we collect personal data about your use of Vialma, such as what songs you have played and what playlists you have created so that you can find them again. We then aggregate and anonymise the history of listening from all subscribers, which we pass on to labels and author rights’ regulatory bodies so that they can in turn distribute the royalties to the relevant rights holder. This is both a legal and contractual requirement.
C. Personal data collected that enables us to provide you with additional features/functionality - from time to time, we may ask you for additional personal data or to provide you with more features or functionality, such as a quiz to provide you with recommendations. You will have the option to withdraw your consent at any time.
D. From third parties - we will receive personal data about you and your activity from third parties, including advertisers and partners we work with in order to provide you with the Service. We will use this personal data either were you have given your consent to a third party or to Vialma or where Vialma has a legitimate interest to use the personal data in order to provide you with a service.
E. Improving the service - we use anonymised and aggregated information for purposes that include testing our IT systems, such as an online questionnaire, research, data analysis, creating marketing and promotion models, improving the Service, and developing new features and functionality within Vialma.
